The Green Monster

I have to admit, I was scared to try the following smoothie. Growing up, the only veggies my mom cooked was potatoes, beans, and corn. Don't get me wrong. My mom can throw down in the kitchen......we just didn't have a lot of variety in the veggie department. I don't think I tried broccoli until I was in my late teens. I don't think I tried spinach until I was in my twenties. Weird. I know. So that's why the name of this smoothie is the green monster. I was scared of it. I made finally a few months ago and it's my favorite smoothie.

I almost make one every day. It's my post-workout shake. I love it. It helps me reach my daily vegeggie intake goal.

Ingredients:
8 oz. skim, almond, rice, or soy milk
1 frozen banana
1 large handful of fresh spinach
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup raw oats (optional)
1 small handful of fresh strawberries (optional)

Put ingredients in blender and blend.
